Family & Business Integration · Wake Forest, NC
You’ve both sacrificed a lot to build your business and your family. You’ve thought through the will, the succession plan, the insurance, the entity documents, the business strategy — and followed through on most of it. But it still feels like the pieces aren’t quite in the right place. Fitting them together has quietly become a second job for one of you and a night shift for the other. That second job is the one I take.
The Builder
You built it.
Founder · Operator · Owner
You make dozens of decisions a day — payroll, customers, marketing, resource allocation — and you love doing it.
You’ve put a strong team around you: employees, a CPA, an attorney, a banker, a financial advisor — each holding an important piece. Your team got assembled, but the whole picture didn’t.
So the assembling falls to you. The business strategy. The succession plan. The will. The insurance policies. All necessary, and all taking time you don’t have.
So they stay on tomorrow’s list.
The Integrator
You make it work.
Spouse · Coordinator · Family Operations
You didn’t set out to do this. First a form. Then a phone call. Then another — until one day you were the one who understood where everything was.
Now you gather the documents, chase what’s missing, and know the details nobody else does. You’re the first call for most of the advisors. But the pieces still feel disconnected because nobody has explained how they fit.
So the questions keep mounting. Is your family protected if the unthinkable happened? Does your spouse know any of the passwords? Does your will still say what you’d both want today?
This is not what you thought you’d be doing with your time.
It’s never been anybody’s job to put all the pieces together. So nobody has.
I do. And not as a checklist you take home — I do the gathering, make the calls, and schedule the appointments. I assemble the whole picture, find what’s missing, and keep it current — so it stops being what one of you does after everyone else has called it a night.
I work with owner‑operated businesses and the families behind them — connecting what nobody else does: the business, the household, and those advising both.

Why This Happens
Whether the retirement account is actually funded. Whether the operating agreement and the will name the same business successor. Whether the beneficiaries you named in 2011 are still the ones you’d name today.
Families are rarely hurt by bad advice — just good advice pushed to tomorrow.

A short five‑minute survey. You’ll see immediately which pieces you have in place, which are missing, and the order I’d work through them with you. Your answers stay with you — unless you choose to send them to me.
The Work
A combination of paperwork, strategy, and clarification — done for you, not handed to you as homework.
Succession & Continuity
Who runs it, who owns it, and who continues the legacy — not assumed, but in writing. I map it with you, then work with your attorney to document and fund it — and to make sure it agrees with everything else you’ve signed.
Business Strategy & Owner Decisions
A strategic partner for the decisions that don’t have an obvious owner: modeling a new business line, weighing buy or lease on the building, evaluating a growth opportunity. All of it to build value you could transfer.
Legacy & What Gets Passed On
What the business is for, what you want to pass on to your children, what you want to protect them from, and what you want your family to value in thirty years. The conversation most plans skip.
Advisor Coordination & Translation
One point of contact for your CPA, attorney, insurance professional, controller, banker, and financial advisor. I organize what each of them is asking for, translate their jargon into a decision you can make, and fill the gaps between them.
Documentation & Entity Organization
Gathering, organizing, and maintaining the paperwork behind your business and household: entity documents, records, policies, and access information — all in one place, current, and easy for either of you to find.
Household Budgeting & Gap Analysis
Personal cash flow, income statement, and balance sheet, along with a standing, prioritized list of what’s open, who it belongs with, and when it needs to happen. The Readiness Inventory on this page is a short version of that list — the real one is longer and specific to your family.
Your Existing Team
If you already have advisors
Good. I don’t replace them.
You already have an estate attorney, a CPA, and a financial advisor, and they’re good at what they do. My job is to make sure their recommendations work in concert rather than in isolation. Most families don’t need to change their advisors — they need the ones they have pointed in the same direction.
If you don’t have them yet
No problem. I can help there too.
You’re not alone — building a business rarely leaves room for assembling a professional team. I’ll help you understand which specialists your situation actually calls for, which ones can wait, and what to look for in each. Then I’ll make introductions and stay in the room while you get started.
How It Works
Every engagement begins the same way — with a genuine conversation, and with both of you in the room.
Discovery Call
A free, conversational call — ideally with both spouses — to understand your situation and determine whether we’re the right fit for each other.
Integration Assessment
A full review of your documents, entities, advisors, business, and open items. You hand over what you have; I gather the rest, schedule the conversations with your attorney, CPA, and agent, and assemble it all into one current picture with a prioritized list of what comes next.
Ongoing Integration
Advisor coordination, succession work, document upkeep, and quarterly check‑ins — I make the calls and keep the follow‑through on my calendar, not yours — so the picture stays current, and you don’t go ten years down the road without another update.
A Note on Investment Advice
“Coordinating all of the finances, details, records, and advisors — so you don’t have to.”
